Sailin’
This scene comes from a recent day out on the water. It was just as calm and serene as the image shows; the deep blue ocean, fair skies and the slip of a sail off in the distance. It brings memories of this song:
“He was captain of a small ship, and he called her the Queen.
Jackson was an old man, the skipper of the sea
And he dreams about one day, an island he’ll find.
Out lost in the ocean, just passing in time.
And he’d rather be
Sailin’, sailin’ away.”
From Cecilio & Kapono’s “Sailin’.”

I love the pohuehue (morning glory) in the foreground of ‘Kamaole Beach III’. This one makes me want to call a Beach Day and skip out of work!
Thanks Chrissy, I’m glad you like it. Please note: I cannot be held responsible for the effects and/or resulting behaviors of my paintings. LOL 😉
My favorites are Beach Day Panoramic Diptych and Prussian Sea because of the blues. It’s almost inconceivable for me, a north Alabama native, to imagine living in Maui. I dream of visiting there!
Thanks, also, for stopping by my blog! 🙂

Thanks Stephanie! Maybe you will visit one day 🙂
I hope so! 🙂

Mamala, I’d like to know if you can offer the Sunset Series in larger format, say ~20″ x 30″? The series would remind of us all the sunsets we have enjoyed over the years, including in Maui. Please let me know. Thanks, John
Aloha John,
