Twenty five artists from around the country participated in this year’s West Maui event. The schedule of events including painting days at D.T. Fleming Beach, the Pioneer Inn at Lahaina Harbor, and Kamehameha Iki Park. The final results were unveiled and on display at the Village Gallery in Lahaina.
I love all these versions of the West Maui Mountains.
Some of my favorite ocean scenes:
This one captures a great beach day:
What wonderful use of colors on the water here:
Not to be missed – the work of Hui Lai Chong:
And another Canoe. What wonderfully bright colors.
My personal favorite of the show? Tradewinds, by Ken Auster. I love his use of color, space and movement, which perfectly captures D.T. Fleming Beach on a windy day. I can just feel the Ironwood Pine needles under my feet in the sand, smell the salt from the ocean and feel the breeze in my hair. I wish I was there right now!
