Moonrise in Kokomo: Kau ka Mahina

I love the tradition of Hawaiian language that delights in a play on words, and the use of aphorisms and humor. Kau ka Mahina,  the name for a full moonrise in Hawaiian, is used as a colloquialism to say “a bald man appears,” when someone of such description enters the room.
